As part of working in the Social Media team for DGI, part of my main focus was to specialise in graphic design and brand consistency, not only with what went out publicly, but the documentation within the business. This included a redesign of all the companies documents and forms by creating interactive PDFs so data was digitally collected rather than by hand across multiple departments so information was easily stored, accessed and no longer lost.

During the Covid 19 pandemic, we were flooded with State and Nationally based information on a daily basis, who can forget Gladys Berejiklian's daily morning briefings. During this time, LGAs went into lockdown, we couldn't go to work and fear of infection was spread far and wide.

During this time, through information sourced via the NSW Health and State Government websites, I was able to collate data that was specific for the Sutherland Shire LGA and table it into a daily graphic broken down by suburb information of infection and vaccination rates, of which I shared to local community Facebook pages as a contribution to the community I live in.

This initiative was above and beyond what local media was producing for communities at the time, and the daily posts became much appreciated and awaited on by thousands in the Sutherland Shire.

This information was recognised and awarded by local government.

Description

There is more to graphic design than just making projects 'look pretty'.  A well designed document, brochure, website, form or advertisement, must also include elements of marketing, sales technique, an understanding of outcome and consumer needs and wants, usability, an eye for detail, and consistency, all combined to make a work that is informative and easy to understand is no easy task.

Having a skillset that encompasses all these aspects has allowed to me to create highly successful work in the field of graphic design, especially in the corporate world.
